Sort the catalogue your way
A to Z is the fastest route when you half remember a title. Rating puts the most highly scored films first and quietly ignores titles with too few votes to be meaningful. Newest and Oldest are the ones to reach for when the release window matters more than the reception.
Set a quality floor
The rating slider filters on the TMDb community score. Set it to 7.0 and you cut most of the noise without losing much worth watching. Set it to 8.0 and you are down to a shortlist you could finish in a year.
Narrow to a genre
Every genre has its own page with the same filters. Tap a chip above and the whole catalogue narrows to that shelf, with the year and rating controls still available on the other side.

How many movies are listed here?
The count above the grid updates with every filter you apply and reflects what TMDb currently holds for that combination. Without filters it runs into the hundreds of thousands.
Why do some very obscure films show a perfect score?
A handful of votes can produce a 10.0. When you sort by rating we require a meaningful number of votes before a title qualifies, so the order you see is closer to genuine consensus.
Can I go further back than 1950?
The year menu stops at 1950 to stay readable. For anything earlier, sort by Oldest and use Load more, or search the title directly.
